SMITH, EVELYN E., (Nee Dattner), 68, of Ocean City died Friday evening at home after a short 
illness. Born in Philadelphia, PA, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Lena (Matthews) 
Dattner.


Evelyn moved to Reading, PA, and was employed by the Ludens Company for eight years as a 
line worker making and wrapping products. The Bank of PA then employed her for eight years 
before she moved to Ocean City.


A resident of Ocean City for many years, Evelyn was employed by the Harrah's Hotel and Casino 
as a credit representative for 16 years before being employed by Wawa of Ocean City for the past 
two years.


Evelyn is survived by her loving children of whom she was very proud: Janet L. Jamison of 
Reading, PA, Walter A. Weed of Savannah, GA, William A. Eltz of West Lawn, PA, Michael J. 
Eltz of Cranston, RI and Charlene M. Weiser of Blandon, PA, as well as her 13 grandchildren and 
five great grandchildren.



Services and Interment will be private at the convenience of the family. The family requests 
donations in her name to the Holy Redeemer Hospice, 1801 N. Route 9, Swainton, NJ 08210.
