Press of Atlantic City - Newspaper Monday, June 09, 2003 ROGERS, JOSEPH LESLIE 82, of Seaville, passed away June 6. 2003 in Shore Memorial Hospital, Somers Point. He was born in Treorchy, South Wales, and came to this country when he was nine years old. He served in the U.S. Army Air Corps during World War II as an airplane mechanic. He retired from NJ Transit, formerly Public Service Bus Co. in 1983. He grew up in East Camden, graduating from the Woodrow Wilson High School and was an outstanding high school and league soccer player. After the war, he and his family lived for 40 years in Pennsauken, where he was a 16-year member of the Pennsauken First Aid Squad. He and his wife, Evelyn, were married on January 1, 1943 in Bethel United Methodist Church in Camden, where they were both active members until June, 1986, when they moved to Seaville and became members of the Seaville United Methodist Church as well as the Young at Heart. He is survived by his wife, Evelyn; two daughters, Leslie and her husband David Wagner of Amherst, NY and Adele and her husband Dr. Donald Harris of Greensboro, NC; a very special niece, Mildred and her husband, Rev. Kenneth Dunn of Monroe, Ml; five grandchildren, T/SGT Stephanie Wagner of the U.S. Air Force Academy, CO, Alison and her husband Paul Zemanek of Longmont, CO, Darren Wagner of San Diego, CA, Abigail and Zvi Harris, both of Greensboro, NC; and two great grandchildren, Jade Foster and Nathan Zemanek, both of Colorado. His Cousin Dennis Jones and wife Gayle of Somers Point and many nieces and nephews also survive him. Relatives and friends are invited to his Services on Tuesday at 12:00 Noon in Seaville United Methodist Church, 3100 Shore Road, Seaville, where friends may call from 11:00AM to 12:00 Noon. Interment will be made at the Seaville Methodist Cemetery. The family request memorial contributions are made to Seaville United Methodist Church, Memorial Fund, 3100 Shore Road, Seaville, NJ 08230.
