Press of Atlantic City - Newspaper Friday, May 23, 2003 O'MARA, WILLIAM C., 76, of Ocean City, on Thursday, May 22, 2003 at his home. Born in Newark, he had lived in Pittsburgh, PA, before moving to Ocean City in 1989. He was a graduate of Central Catholic High School and had attended the Carnegie Mellon University both Pittsburgh, PA. Mr. O'Mara was the civil engineer for Allegheny Asphalt and Paving Co., Pittsburgh, PA and the City of Pittsburgh before he retired in 1989. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army Air Force serving during World War II. Mr. O'Mara was a member of St. Frances Cabrini R.C. Church in Ocean City where he had served as an usher, was an officer of the Serra Club of Cape May County and for 15 years was the football coach for St. Philomena Grade School in Pittsburgh, PA and a member of the American Legion. Surviving are his wife: Nora O'Mara of Ocean City; three daughters: Noreen Richardson and her husband Mark, Sally Devenney and her husband Fran all of Philadelphia, PA and Mollie O'Mara and her husband Richard Caliban of New York City, NY; two sons: William C. O'Mara, Jr. and his wife Lynn of Pittsburgh, PA and Christopher O'Mara and his wife Andrea of New York City, NY; also surviving are a sister: Carol Smith of Pittsburgh, PA; 16 grandchildren and two great grandchildren. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered Saturday morning at 11 o'clock from St. Frances Cabrini Church, Second Street at Atlantic Avenue, Ocean City where friends may call from 10 o'clock until time of mass. Burial will follow in Cape May County Veterans Cemetery, Cape May Court House.
