Press of Atlantic City - Newspaper Wednesday, May 28, 2003 MURPHY, FRANK J., 84, of Ocean City, on Monday, May 26, 2003 in the Lutheran Home at Ocean View. Born in Boston, MA he was raised in Worchester, MA. He moved with his family in 1942 to Collingswood, where he met his wife Ruth. They married in 1944 and moved to Erlton. In 1955, they moved to Ocean City. Mr. Murphy was a Veteran of the U.S. Army serving during World War II. He is a member of St. John Lutheran Church and a life member of the V.F.W. Ferguson-Foglio Post 6650, both in Ocean City. Mr. Murphy had worked for R.C.A. in Camden before moving to Ocean City where during the mid 1950's he and his wife Ruth owned and operated the Asbury Bakery. Most recently he worked for the City of Ocean City in the Electrical Department for 15 years before his retirement in 1980. Surviving are his wife Ruth M. (nee Smearer) Murphy; three daughters, Gail Bridden of Ocean City, Diane Dugger and her husband Travis of Hellertown, PA and Marion Gore of Egg Harbor Township; also surviving are two brothers, Robert and his wife, Dorothy of San Rafel, CA and William and his wife, Angela of Lompac, CA; two sisters, Marie LaCoy and her husband Robert of Dacula, GA and Dorothy McNamee and her husband James of Laurel Springs; four grandchildren, Rene and Jennifer Gore, Lisa and Amy Pektor. His funeral service will be offered Thursday afternoon at two o'clock from the Godfrey Funeral Home of Palermo, 644 South Shore Road, Palermo where friends may call from twelve o'clock noon until the time of service. Burial will follow in Seaside Cemetery, Palermo. The family suggests, those who desire send memorial contributions to either V.F.W .
