James was born in Philadelphia, PA. He was a Navy Veteran of WWII. James was a 43 year employee of SEPTA. He started his career as a trolley operator and he retired as a train dispatcher. James is survived by his beloved wife of 42 years Bernice B. (nee Hagenbuch) and his children Steven Dodd and his wife Denise, Linda Murphy and her husband Ray, James Madden Jr. and his wife Denise, John Madden and his wife Christine and Kevin Madden and his wife Adriane. He is also survived by his sister Rose Camarrta and 16 grandchildren. Relatives and friends are invited to attend James Life Celebration and viewing Wednesday, May 28 from 10- 11 AM at Saint John of God Church, 680 Town Bank Road North Cape May, NJ. Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 11 AM. Interment Cape May County Veterans Cemetery. The family requests in lieu of flowers memorial contributions be made to the American Heart Association, 600 White Horse Pike, Audubon, NJ 08106.
