LAVIGNA, FERN HARRIS, CARMEN 92, of Ocean City, passed away peacefully on June 5, 2003 
in Ocean City. She was born in Tacony section of Philadelphia, PA. Carmen was a volunteer for 
ACMC, Mainland Division for 10 years and for the Red Cross Blood Bank for 14 years. She was a 
member of the Grannys Club of Atlantic County and the Mature Adults Club of St. Elizabeth Ann 
Seton Church in Absecon.


Carmen was predeceased by her husband Stanley, her son Stan Jr. and by her grandson William 
A. Jerdan. She is survived by her daughter, DiAnn Hurd and her companion Robert Allpress of 
Toronto, Canada; two grandsons, Bradley R. Hurd and his wife Eshun, Brian S. Hurd and his wife 
Shoena all of Toronto, Canada. She also leaves a sister- in-law, Dorothy Greer, several nieces and 
a nephew.


A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 AM on Monday, June 09, 2003 at the Saint 
Joseph's Roman Catholic Church, 606 Shore Road, Somers Point. Burial will be at the Laurel 
Memorial Park, Pomona. In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made to the 
Fellowship Fund, United Methodist Homes, Wesley Manor, Ocean City or a charitable 
organization of one's choice.
