Press of Atlantic City - Newspaper Friday, May 23, 2003 DOLE, ERNEST CHARLES, longtime Wildwood resident, passed away peacefully on May 21, 2003, in West Palm Beach, Florida. Born in Philadelphia, PA in 1920, "Ernie" moved his family to the Jersey Shore in 1967. The father of eight daughters and one son, Ernie was a WWII veteran. He worked for many years in Wildwood as a bartender at the Bolero Restaurant and most infamously as manager of Sid's Tavern in Cape May where many remember him as the "Big E." He was also in real estate for many years employed with Rosenthal Realty, Tenenbaum Realty and Beecher-Kay Realty in Wildwood. He spent the last 23 years in the Jupiter, Florida area. Ernie is survived by his former wife, Helen; son, Christopher Dole; and daughters Loretta Frank, Maureen Olney, Barbara Dole, Lynn Baran, Michele Matthews, Marianne Kelly, Suzanne Till, Valerie Dole and seven grandchildren. He will be sadly missed but never forgotten. A Memorial Service will be held Monday, May 26, 2003, at 11 a.m., at St. Ann's Roman Catholic Church, located at Magnolia and Atlantic Avenues in Wildwood.
