Press of Atlantic City Tuesday, May 06, 2003 CAREY, JR., BERNARD P. "BUD", 81, of Ocean City, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on May 1, 2003 at Shore Memorial Hospital in Somers Point. Bud was born in Philadelphia, PA and was a graduate of Malvern Prep, St. Joseph's College and University of Pennsylvania Law School. A proud and patriotic American, Bud was a WW II Veteran, having served as a Naval Officer and was a survivor of Exercise Tiger. He was a member of the LST and Exercise Tiger Associations. A long time resident of Drexel Hill, PA, he was a former Assistant District Attorney for Delaware County, PA, and a member of the Order of the Door. Bud is survived by his wife Patricia (Phillips); five children, Bernie, Diane, Charlene, Bobby and Suzanne, and five step-children, Mary Leigh, Jay, Judy, Todd and Paige, and their husbands and wives; also, 31 grandchildren, one great grandchild; and numerous nephews and nieces. A Memorial Mass with Military honors will be celebrated at St. Francis Cabrini Church in Ocean City on Wednesday, May 7 at 11:00 a.m. The burial will be private. The family will hold a visitation one hour prior to the service.
