Press of Atlantic City - Newspaper Friday, May 23, 2003 BENSON, CARL VICTOR, 77, of Cape May, died Tuesday evening in Burdette Tomlin Memorial Hospital, Cape May Court House. Mr. Benson was born in Teaneck to Clarence S. and Alma A. Benson. He was raised in Montclair by his father, Clarence and his step-mother Hilma. Mr. Benson was a resident of Harrison, NY for over forty years where he was very active in his church and community. He later moved to Cape May in 1996 after summering here since 1970. Mr. Benson was a U.S. Navy veteran of WWII. He was a graduate of Upsala College in East Orange and was later employed as an executive with Day, Meyer, Murray, and Young Corp. in New York City for over thirty years, retiring in 1988. After moving to Cape May he became involved with the Historic Preservation Commission and was also a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Cape May. He is survived by his wife of 50 years: Nancy (Hoy) Benson; three children: Kristine Benson Neal (and Richard) of Franklin, MA, Carl Edmund Benson (and Heidi) of Lincoln University, PA, David Hoy Benson (and Heather) of Chicago, IL; five grandchildren: Abigail, Brittana and Samuel Benson and Stephen and Elizabeth Neal. A memorial service will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, June 7, 2003 in the First Presbyterian Church, 500 Hughes St., Cape May.
