McCALLION, DAVID J., of Newark, DE, died Tuesday, May 13, 2003 of congestive heart failure at 
Christiana Care. He would have been 88 June 1. 


David was born in 1915 at home in Ocean City, the son of John and Alice C. (Wallace) McCallion. 


David was predeceased by his dear wife of 56 years, Alice M. McCallion, who died in 1998; and 
his twin brother, Dr. Luther L. McCallion, who died in 1982. David is survived by his sister, Eileen 
Zavaglia of Linwood; son and daughter-in-law, Charles D. and Lillian "Dee" McCallion of Reno, NV; 
and daughter and son-in-law, Beverly and James Stoudt of Newark. Other survivors include four 
grandchildren, Maj. Clemace R. Valiant of Half Moon Bay, CA, Shaun D. Valiant of Reno, NV, 
Cristin R. Valiant of Newark, Kevin L. Stoudt of Fleetwood, PA; and five great grandchildren. 


A memorial service to celebrate David's life will be held on Thursday, June 19 at the New Castle 
Presbyterian Church, 25 E. 2nd St., New Castle, DE 19720 at 11 a.m., with interment in 
Gracelawn Memorial Park. Friends may call prior to the church service at 10 a.m. 


In lieu of flowers, contributions may be sent to the New Castle Presbyterian Church; or to the 
Wilmington Manor Lions Club, 320 DuPont Hwy., New Castle, DE 19720.
